Statement of Faith
“And they shall call them The Holy People, The Redeemed of the LORD; and you shall be called Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken.” – Isaiah 62:12
At Derusha House of Comfort, our faith is the foundation upon which all ministry flows. Inspired by the compassionate heart of God and the calling to be a refuge for the brokenhearted, our beliefs guide every prayer we whisper, every door we knock on, and every hand we hold.
What We Believe
1. The Word of God
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God is our ultimate guide in faith and practice.
2. The Nature of God
We believe in one eternal Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Creator of all things, sovereign in love, power, and purpose.
3. Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully divine and fully human, who lived a sinless life, died for our redemption, rose again, and is coming back. Through Him, we receive grace, healing, and restoration.
4. Salvation by Grace
We believe salvation is a free gift of God, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. It is not earned by works, but lived out through love, repentance, and discipleship.
5. The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit dwells within believers, empowering us to live holy lives, bear spiritual fruit, and minister with boldness and compassion.
6. The Church
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, called to bring hope to the world. We are not confined to a building—we are a living, breathing fellowship of believers sent to comfort the afflicted and serve with joy.
7. Compassion & Comfort
Inspired by James 1:27 and Isaiah 49:15, we believe in ministering to orphans, widows, the forgotten, and the grieving. We are called to be the hands and heart of Jesus in a weary world.
8. Spiritual Freedom & Wholeness
We believe every soul deserves a sacred space to be heard, loved, and restored without judgment. Our Heart Space gatherings provide that sanctuary, where truth meets tears, laughter meets loss, and healing begins.
Rooted in Scripture
Our core scriptures include:
- Isaiah 62:12 – You shall be called Sought Out, a City Not Forsaken.
- James 1:27 – Pure religion is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress…
- Isaiah 49:15 – Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.
